@ ATM — Madrid does not have dual pricing. The Thai writing in the back of the menus is intended to help the cashiers remember the input codes for new items on the menu. As for raising their prices, I believe selected items were tagged for an additional 5 or 10 baht. If that’s too much for you, eat on the street.

Well, I went there end of July this year, in the end of my two months holiday in Thailand. According all the good recommodations I expected something special. I went there for a lunch in the early afternoon, odered a salamie pizza and had a drink there. Some of the waitresses were quite pretty. Tall, young, fair skin and curvy. Though guess they were not on the game, maybe just the relatives from the owner.The pizza weren’t too good, to be honest. Some commends stated that you can get there the best pizza in BKK. I guess the guy eats his pizza usually at pizza hut or the pizza company.
Well, the pizza were average from taste, imho. The best pizza I had in Thailand at Toscana Restaurant at Pattaya Beach road (between soi6 and Hard rock Hotel.

Been going to the Madrid for years. Nice folks in there.Since business has slowed, THEY JUST RAISED THEIR PRICES.
I was also dismayed to learn they have a Thai menu with Thai prices.

In addition to good food and a historical ambiance, the Madrid remains a good spot for information gathering. I went in there one day in 1998 looking for a dancer (Nat, my very first barfine back in 1984)I had met at the Butterfly Bar which was located in Patpong about where KC2 is now. The Butterfly Bar was long gone by 1998 but the Madrid service girls were able to direct me to one of my friend’s friends, who was now working at a Patpong 2 beer bar. This in turn led to a reunion with Nat a few weeks later.

Nice little expat pub. Decent bar food.Lots of old timers. Some Vietnam MIAs I suspect.
The girls are old but can be fun.Ring the bell or by a some lady drinks and the atmosphere can get crazy fun.
